Thank you to our West Kootenay communities, the local players, coaches, and officials and to the Montreal Canadiens Alumni Team, the organizing committee, all our supporters, donors, and sponsors, and to all the volunteers and staff for making our 15th Anniversary event one to bring cherished memories for a lifetime.
Thank you to everyone who came out to watch the game and support our cause. Together we have raised more than $50,000 to provide bursaries to individuals in our local communities to take our online Applied Web Development and Design Certificate program, and for adaptive sports programming to benefit children and youth with diverse needs in our local communities.
“Just wanted to say a big thank you for all the work you put in to make the Make A Change event a huge success. Definitely appreciated the opportunity to be involved and I know all the fellas had a fantastic time ’playing again.’ Thanks again to you and the many volunteers in your efforts in making this go.”
“A sincere thank-you to you and Make A Change Canada for bringing such a positive community event to Nelson and for all the good work that you do.”
“In the short few days after the game I have heard many times over from people who attended that they had an amazing time. Hats off to you for all the time you put in for charity and also for this special town!”
Thank you to our sponsors for making this event possible:
On January 23, 2020, we celebrated our 15-year anniversary by hosting a charity hockey game featuring the Anciens Canadiens de Montréal against our own Kootenay Patricks, taking to the ice in our founding community of Nelson, B.C., all in support of Make A Change Canada and the clients we serve. With more than 150 volunteers involved, the event was a success from start to finish. Make A Change Canada raised over $50,000 from the event, and in total more than 80 donors, sponsors, and community partners came on board in support of this fundraiser. It was a thrilling experience to host such an event, and the memories of that evening have carried us through the year. A big thank-you to Mike Stolte for capturing these special moments and putting together this wonderful short film to cherish for many years to come.
